Frequently asked questions
Everything people usually ask me. Still stuck? Email [email protected].
Booking & paying
How do I book?
Pick a service on the Book & Pay page, choose a time with the "Pick a time" button, then pay with the Revolut link. You'll get a confirmation email with everything you need to know before the session.
When do I pay?
Upfront, online, by card through Revolut. You don't need a Revolut account. The €549 Starter Package is paid in full before the first session.
Can I ring you?
Email is best: [email protected]. When I'm training I can't answer the phone, and email lets me give you a proper answer. If you want to talk your dog through with me, book the €45 Behaviour Consult and you get 20 minutes of my full attention.
Do I have to do the First Session?
Yes, every new client starts with the €100 First Session at my venue in Rathfeigh (or the Starter Package, or a Behaviour Consult if there's aggression). I need to meet you and your dog before I can plan anything properly.
When does the venue open?
First Sessions at the Rathfeigh venue start from about 24 October 2026. Weekday First Sessions start no later than 13:15.
What's your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to change or cancel, and I'll move your session to another time. Late cancellations and no-shows may lose the session fee.
Do you give refunds?
If you cancel with enough notice I'll move your booking rather than lose it. If I have to cancel, you'll get a new date or a full refund, your choice.
What if I miss a session in the Starter Package?
Let me know as early as you can and we'll rearrange it, so the month runs a little longer. Sessions missed without notice can't always be made up.
Your dog
My dog is aggressive. Can you help?
That's my speciality: aggression, reactivity and anxiety. I've worked with dogs whose owners were told to put them down, and turned some of them around. I can't promise any result before I've met your dog, but I will give you an honest opinion. Start with the €45 Behaviour Consult and please tell me about any bite history.
Will it definitely work?
No honest trainer can guarantee results. Every dog is different, and a lot depends on how much the homework is practised between sessions. What I can promise is a clear plan, honest advice and real effort from my side.
How old does my puppy need to be?
The New Puppy Package is for puppies aged 2 to 6 months. It\'s all done in your home, so your puppy can start before vaccinations are finished. Older puppies and adult dogs can start with the First Session or the Starter Package.
Do you train all breeds?
Yes, all breeds and ages, from puppies to adult and working dogs.
Does my dog need a muzzle?
If your dog has ever bitten, or might bite, please tell me when you book. I may ask you to bring a well-fitted basket muzzle your dog is used to wearing. If you need help getting your dog used to one, ask me.
Can I bring more than one dog?
Sessions are planned for one dog. If you'd like help with two dogs, email me first and we'll work out the best way to do it.
What if my dog is sick on the day?
Please don't bring a sick dog. Email me as soon as you can and we'll move the session. If your dog has a health issue that could affect training, let me know and include any vet notes.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Yes, for sessions at the venue or in public, please make sure your dog's vaccinations are up to date.
On the day
What should I bring?
A flat collar or harness, a normal lead, soft treats your dog loves, a toy, water and a bowl, and any behaviour or vet notes. Please be ready 5 minutes early.
Should I feed my dog before?
No food for about 3 hours before the session. We use food in training, so a slightly hungry dog learns faster. And please don't over-exercise your dog beforehand.
Where are sessions held?
First Sessions are always at my venue: Cushinstown, Rathfeigh, Co. Meath C15 E2KO. Follow-ups can be at the venue, your home, or a neutral place we agree, depending on the training. Behaviour Modification call-outs are at your home, up to 50 km from Ratoath.
What if the weather is bad?
We train in most Irish weather, so dress for it. If it's really unsafe (storm warnings, for example), I'll contact you to move the session at no cost.
What if I have more questions during a session?
Ask away. If there isn't time to cover it properly, it goes on your "next session" list so it doesn't get lost.
Call-outs & travel
How much is travel for a call-out?
Free within 20 km of Ratoath town centre. Beyond that it's €0.50 per km over 20 km (straight-line distance, one way). Call-outs go up to 50 km, so the most travel can cost is €15. Use the price checker on the Behaviour page.
I live more than 50 km away. Can you still help?
Yes. Book the €45 Behaviour Consult by phone or video, or come to the venue in Rathfeigh for a First Session.
